Madhya Pradesh: Clashes break out between two groups during celebrations of Team India’s ICC Champions Trophy win in Mhow

Indore: During the celebration of Team India’s triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday, a fight broke out between two groups in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, according to an official. Authorities increased security in the region after several cars were set on fire and vandalized.

A preliminary inquiry into the event is ongoing, according to Nimish Agarwal, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG, Rural).

“During the celebration of Team India’s triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, there was a confrontation between the two teams. Right now, everything is perfectly under control. I want to make it clear to everyone that nobody should attempt to impose their own version of law and order. All those engaged in the inquiry will be held accountable when it is finished.

This has resulted in several injuries. At the moment, they are the four situations. “A preliminary investigation into this is currently underway, and the entire incident will be investigated,” said Nimish Agarwal, DIG, Rural.

Asheesh Singh, the district collector for Indore, informed the media that there is now tranquility in the region.

“There are no issues wherever; peace has been created here. I thus urge everyone to exercise patience through you. Fake news of any form should be avoided, and those who engage in it will face severe consequences. Asheesh Singh, the district collector, said that further research is being conducted.

Rural SP of Indore Security personnel are monitoring the area, and the situation is currently under control, according to Hitika Vasal.

“Here, there was tension between the two sides, and there have been some violent confrontations. The incident happened after Team India’s triumph. Firecrackers caused the event. Right now, everything is under control. I want to make it clear to everyone that I don’t trust false news of any kind. We are monitoring the region; there is enough force here. The situation will be looked into, and all appropriate measures will be taken; as a result, those responsible will face consequences. Three individuals are reportedly hurt here, according to the news. “More research is being conducted,” SP Hitika Vasal said.
