Regarding the disposal of poisonous waste from the Union Carbide facility in Bhopal, he advised the people of Pithampur to maintain their composure and not fall for rumors.

“The public interest is given top priority by the state government. In the public interest, we have always proceeded… Following a late-night meeting with authorities on Friday, Mohan Yadav informed reporters here, “We have transported the Union Carbide factory waste to Pithampur in compliance with the court’s order.”

In accordance with a court order with a January 4 deadline, the garbage was taken to Pithampur for burning.

Yadav emphasized that the government has always put the needs of the people first and made sure that safety regulations are upheld. He said that the administration would take the issue to court and take additional measures in response to the court’s ruling, acknowledging the public’s worries.

“The court had set the 4th as the deadline for this job… The public should be informed that safety regulations are not in danger. We will work to get this subject before the court because of the public’s anxiety, and additional action should be taken based on that. We are all with the public, so please don’t believe any false rumors,” he stated.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the administration is dedicated to safeguarding the public’s interests and advised them not to trust false rumors. Pithampur is still in a difficult situation as demonstrators insist that the rubbish not be dumped there.

Residents have been reassured by Dhar district administration that all issues would be resolved and that no action will be taken without the approval of the people.
Residents of Pithampur were informed earlier in the day by Dhar district administration officials that no action would be conducted without first obtaining public approval.

Officials asked demonstrators to abstain from breaching the law and stressed that all public concerns will be handled.

“In reaction to the demonstration at the Pithampur bus terminal against the rubbish carried here from the Union Carbide India Limited site in Bhopal, the police and administration are upholding law and order. I want everyone to know that without taking people’s trust, nothing will be done. Dhar Collector Priyank Mishra informed ANI that all procedures are being followed in accordance with scientific guidelines and orders from the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

Mishra warned the demonstrators that if the situation became a major law and order problem, severe measures would be implemented.

“Discussions will go on as usual, and public concerns will be heard. We will answer all of the public’s questions. You have nothing to conceal. At all costs, everyone is asked to refrain from breaking the law. At all costs, there should be no loss of any type. There are schools and other facilities in the industrial district of Pithampur. It is crucial that we don’t lose anything or hurt anybody else. Strict measures will be taken if things become worse,” the collector said.

On the evening of January 1, over forty years after the Bhopal gas catastrophe, the hazardous waste—which had come from the Union Carbide industrial site in Bhopal—was taken to Pithampur for safe disposal.
The Bhopal gas catastrophe, which took place on the intervening night of December 2 and 3, 1984, is regarded as the biggest industrial disaster in the world. Thousands of people died as a result of a gas leak at the Union Carbide India Limited pesticide facility.
