Longtime friends and iconic ‘Titanic’ co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet meet
At a recent private screening of Winslet’s “Lee,” longtime friends and legendary “Titanic” co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reconnected.
A few of the screening’s images and videos went viral. In one of the snippets, DiCaprio was seen praising Winslet as he introduced the film. As she came onstage, the two also gave one other a pleasant peck on the lips, according to PEOPLE.
“Kate, my dear friend, your work in this film has been nothing short of transformative,” DiCaprio addressed the audience in the video, introducing her as “one of the great talents of my generation.”
“I continue to be awestruck, I continue to admire your strength, your integrity, your talent and your passion for every single project you create,” he said in the clip.
Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor also posted a video of the Hollywood stars’ reunion on her Instagram Story, adding love emojis as a message.
The 1997 epic Titanic, directed by James Cameron, featured DiCaprio and Winslet as co-stars and chronicled their star-crossed relationship. Since they first met on the sets of “Titanic,” they have remained close friends.
Winslet received an Oscar nomination for Titanic, which made her and DiCaprio famous all over the world. Before Cameron’s “Avatar” overtook it, the movie was the highest-grossing film of all time.
In addition to winning 11 Oscars overall, including Best Picture, it garnered an incredible 14 Academy Award nominations. Both performers still regularly discuss the film in interviews today.
‘Lee’, Winslet’s film, is a biographical drama about American war photographer and journalist Lee Miller.
The film explores Lee Miller’s unwavering spirit and lasting influence while focusing on her wartime experiences in 1977 as told in flashbacks to a young journalist played by Josh O’Connor.
