Speaking on Friday, Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla lamented the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, stating that his passing was a major blow to the country and that he was a pivotal figure in Indian politics.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tells the reporters, “Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former prime minister, is no longer with us. He was a significant figure in Indian politics. He brought about significant change in the socioeconomic sphere, and the country will never forget his contribution. He contributed to the nation’s economic development while serving as prime minister. His passing is a major blow to the country. My sympathies go out to his family.

Praneet Kaur, a BJP politician, praised Manmohan Singh, stating that he carried out his duties with simplicity and humility and never talked poorly of anybody.

“The country’s economy started to rise after Narasimha Rao presented his first budget during his tenure,” BJP leader Kaur told the reporters. Despite the several parties, he managed the government and retained everyone. During his term, I served as a junior minister, yet he used to do the tiniest tasks. He carried out his duties simply and modestly, and he never disparaged anybody. His knowledge in economics was well-liked worldwide.

I had the honor of knowing him for over fifty years, and he was a towering, sturdy, visionary politician. In retrospect, he was a guy who ascended from quite lowly beginnings. He had an exceptional academic record; he did not lack any academic distinctions. He will be known for a variety of things. He was, I believe, the mastermind behind economic changes. At a time when the economy was struggling, he was able to manage it. He will be regarded with a great deal of respect and love.

At his Delhi home, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin paid last condolences to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, calling his passing a “great loss” for the country.

“India has suffered a significant defeat. He has implemented a number of programs to upgrade Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure. He established the Sethusamudram project, Metro rail, and the 100-day employment initiative. He also proclaimed Tamil to be a classical language. He was close to M. Karunanidhi, our leader. “I convey my sincere sympathies to his family and Congress on behalf of the DMK,” Stalin said to reporters.
