Kejriwal will launch priest, granthi honor scheme from Hanuman temple of CP

New Delhi: On Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal, the former chief minister of Delhi and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and his spouse Sunita Kejriwal will inaugurate the Pujari, Granthi Samman Yojana, from the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place. The plan will be introduced by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi from the Karol Bagh Gurudwara.

“I shall start the Priest Granthi Samman Yojana from the Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place today with my spouse. “This scheme will be launched by Atishi ji from the Karol Bagh Gurudwara,” Kejriwal wrote on X.

Notably, Kejriwal introduced the Pujari, Granthi Samman Yojana, on Monday, ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. He said that the ‘granthis’ of the Gurudwara and temple priests will earn an honorarium of around Rs 18,000 per month under this scheme. He said that once the AAP from the government wins the next elections in the nation’s capital, this plan would be put into action.

According to Kejriwal, this is the first time it has happened in the nation. One class that has continued the customs from one generation to the next is the priest. We never gave their family any attention, and they never did either.

He said that we are served by pujaris. They have always brought us closer to God, whether it’s via our child’s birthday or the passing of a loved one.

However, they never paid enough attention to their own families, and we did the same. For the first time in the nation, this is taking place. We have completed a number of first-time projects in the nation’s capital. We made bus travel accessible to women and upgraded hospitals and schools. All I can hope for is that the Congress and BJP administrations will take note of this and introduce similar programs in the states they control.

He attacked the BJP, saying they sent police and made bogus accusations in an attempt to stop the Mahila Samman Yojana. The same scheme’s registration is still open. They attempted, but were unable, to stop the Sanjeevani Yojana. With this plan, I don’t want them to do the same.
