Kejriwal hits back at PM Modi’s ‘disaster’ jibe

In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Aapda’ (crisis) at the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government, party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday praised the achievements of his administration in the nation’s capital and said that people saw this as a ‘Aashirwad’ (blessed).

At a news conference today, Kejriwal said, “Jo kaam AAP Sarkar kar rahi hai use log aapda nahi aashirwad kehte hai (The work the AAP government is doing isn’t a crisis; people call it a blessing),” adding that the BJP has three “Aapda” (crises).

“The crisis is within the BJP, not in Delhi,” said Aapda Delhi mein nahi BJP mein aayi hai. The absence of a chief ministerial face is the BJP’s first challenge. They don’t even know what topics to run on in the election, which is the second reason they don’t have a narrative. The lack of an agenda for this election is the third issue. He said that the BJP was the source of all three issues.

The governing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was criticized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier today, who said that “those who have been in power in Delhi for the last 10 years- have damaged school education.”

Along with criticizing AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, PM Modi said, “Over the last ten years, Delhi has been encircled by ‘Aapda’. Some ‘kattar beimaan’ have kept Anna Hazare in the forefront, pushing Delhi in the direction of ‘Aapda’. “Dhaka par toot padi hai, AAP aapda bankar.”

Kejriwal went on to say that the AAP administration has made so many advancements in roads, water, power, healthcare, and education over the last ten years that it would take hours to mention them all.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister hasn’t made any statements in the last 10 years that the BJP administration could be proud of. “Instead of criticizing the people of Delhi, they should be showcasing their accomplishments,” Kejriwal said.

“The Prime Minister made a number of pledges to the populace during the 2020 elections. He had promised that everyone in Delhi will have a permanent home by 2022. Their manifesto also made reference to this. The Prime Minister gave the keys to 1,700 homes today. They have only built 4,700 homes in the last five years, so this is not the first time. Only 4,700 of the 1.5 million homes Delhi needs have been constructed in the last five years, the AAP leader said.

Kejriwal further said that the BJP had destroyed slums, leaving 2,78,796 people homeless over the last five years.
“The Prime Minister misled the public by promising permanent homes. They want to destroy all of Delhi’s slums by the time of the 2030 elections. The impoverished are the adversaries of these people. I constructed 530 Mohalla clinics in five years; the PM would have received recognition if he had constructed 5,000. He stated, “I built five new hospitals; he (PM) wouldn’t have had to criticize me if he had built fifty.”

The dates for Delhi’s assembly elections, which are scheduled for February, should be revealed in a few days.
