Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah rejects demand for minister Priyank Kharge’s resignation over contractor suicide case
Bengaluru: In response to a contractor’s death, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has denied the BJP’s request that Minister Priyank Kharge quit. He called the demand an accusation motivated by political animosity.
“The suicide letter of Bidar contractor Sachin does not include the name of Minister Priyank Kharge. She is not connected to this case in any way, either by involvement or evidence. Therefore, the issue of resignation is not raised,” Siddaramaiah told reporters in this location.
The minister, however, has said that she is prepared for any investigation. In a related instance, the death note had the name of KS Eshwarappa, a member of the BJP. The CID has been given the task of looking into the complaint that was submitted in connection with the situation, and when they get the report, the proper action will be taken,” he said.
The chief minister questioned why the BJP had no trust in the state police in response to their demand that the inquiry be turned over to the CBI.
“The CBI was not given any cases when the BJP was in office. He said that the BJP lacked the morality to insist that the CBI look into the matter.
The chief minister said that after speaking with party leaders, he will talk about enlarging the cabinet.
The BJP has called for Priyank Kharge’s resignation, claiming that Sachin committed suicide as a result of threats and harassment by Raju Kapanur, a close aide of Minister Priyank Kharge.
The state’s Congress administration has allegedly caused problems for contractors, according to the BJP. It said that stress and money difficulties are the main causes of suicide among contractors.
“Contractors have been in a very precarious position ever since the Congress administration took office. They are distraught and in financial distress. They are committing suicide as a result of extreme financial hardship. “The contractors are being choked by the pressures from officials who are influenced by the minister and those who are close to them,” BJP State President BY Vijayendra Yediyurappa wrote on X.
