Jammu & Kashmir: Security personnel and terrorists first clash in Kulgam

Jammu and Kashmir: Early on Thursday morning, a clash between security personnel and militants occurred in the Kadder neighborhood of the Kulgam district. “Encounter has started at the Kadder area of Kulgam district,” the Kashmir Zone Police said on X (previously Twitter). The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said that when the security forces confronted the terrorists, they fired a “heavy volume” of fire.

“Kulgam, OP KADER. The Indian Army and J-K police started a joint operation at Kader, Kulgam, based on specific information input about the presence of terrorists. Vigilant soldiers saw suspicious activities, and when confronted, terrorists opened fire in large, indiscriminate bursts. Own forces successfully responded. An ongoing operation by security personnel in the Srinagar area earlier on December 3 resulted in the death of a terrorist known as Junaid Ahmed Bhat. According to police, Bhat was responsible for many terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir, including the death of civilians in Gagangir and Ganderbal.
In the meanwhile, official sources predict that on December 19, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will preside over a high-level security conference in the nation’s capital.

The conference would mainly concentrate on important security matters, with a particular emphasis on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the officials, who were informed of the news, said ANI.

Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant The conference, which seeks to evaluate ways to promote peace and stability in the area, will also be attended by Manoj Sinha.
