ISRO is all set to launch the PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 mission today at 4:04 pm
Andhra Pradesh: The PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 mission is scheduled to be launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Thursday at 4:04 p.m.
The PSLV-C59 vehicle will transport the spacecraft into a highly elliptical orbit as part of NewSpace India Limited’s (NSIL) dedicated commercial mission.
Because of a problem found in the PROBA-3 spacecraft, the Wednesday planned mission launch was canceled.
In the morning, there were gentle drizzles around the city.
NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and ISRO collaborated on the PSLV-C59.
The European Space Agency (ESA) has a technological demonstration mission called Proba-3. The world’s and ESA’s first precise formation-flying mission is called Proba-3. To demonstrate cutting-edge formation flying and rendezvous technology, two satellites will fly in tandem while keeping a fixed configuration in orbit, much like a single huge, solid object.
The mission will exhibit formation flying as part of a large-scale scientific experiment, according to the ESA. In order to examine the Sun’s weak corona closer to the solar rim than has ever been possible, the two spacecraft will combine to create a solar coronagraph that is around 150 meters long.
In addition to its scientific value, the experiment will serve as an ideal tool for gauging the success of the two spacecraft’s exact placement. Numerous new technologies will be used to enable it.
As a space laboratory, Proba-3 will demonstrate acquisition, rendezvous, proximity operations, and formation flying. It will also validate new metrology sensors and control algorithms, enabling new approaches to mission control. In order for OSC to block out the bright solar disk for the CSC, the two spacecraft will align up with the Sun in a fixed position in orbit, 150 meters apart. This will allow scientists to see the Sun’s weak corona, or surrounding atmosphere, continuously.
ISRO posted on social media X, saying, “PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 Mission Update:
“The countdown has begun! Time of Liftoff: December 5, 2024, 16:04 ISTAs PSLV-C59 gets ready to launch ESA’s Proba-3 satellites into orbit; keep an eye out.
ISRO had earlier on Wednesday announced the launch delay via social network X.
“Update on the PSLV-C59/PROBA-3 Mission: A new date has been set for the launch. As we are ready to create history, set your clocks:Time: December 5, 2024Time: 16:04 IST
As we get closer to T-minus zero, you’ll be updated with countdown updates and mission milestones. Await this historic occasion!
Liftoff: December 5, 2024, 16:04 IST, Location: SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota “ISRO has announced that the PSLVC-59 would launch in four phases. Approximately 320 tonnes of total mass will be lifted off by the launch vehicle.
