Himachal Pradesh School Education Board cancels Class 12 English exam due to possibility of paper leak
Shimla: Because of the potential for a paper leak, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education has canceled the Class 12 English exam for the March 2025 session at all of the state’s testing locations.
At a Government Senior Secondary School in the Chowari neighborhood of the Chamba district, the breach was discovered when the teachers unintentionally opened the Class 12 English question paper instead of the Class 10 one.
The Board made this choice in response to anonymous allegations on the “Exam Mitra App” on March 7 that the English question paper for Class 12 had been opened ahead of time. During the examination this session, the Board first presented this application.
“An anonymous complaint was received in the Board office on 07.03.2025 (AN) regarding the opening of the Class-10+2 question paper in the subject of English of the March-2025 Annual Examination at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Chowari, Distt-Chamba, in error before the scheduled date and time,” the Board’s official notification states. Following that, the Board adopted a serious stance and verified this information using video clips that were accessible in the Board office via the “Exam Mitra App,” which the Board had first used for this test.
“Therefore, in accordance with the authority granted to him by Section 2.1.2 of the H.P. Board of School Education Examination Regulations 1993, as amended up to July 2017, the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education orders the cancellation of the Class 10+2 English examination for the March 2025 Annual Examination at all examination centers located throughout the state for the reason or reasons outlined above. The new date for the aforementioned test will be announced separately when the time comes,” it said.
