Himachal Pradesh Government: Approval given to promote Directorate of Elementary Education to Directorate of School Education

Shimla: The Directorate of Elementary Education has been promoted to the Directorate of School Education by the Himachal Pradesh government, which will now be in charge of pre-nursery to Class 12.

“The State Cabinet, in its meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, approved the elevation of the Directorate of Elementary Education to the Directorate of School Education for overseeing education from pre-nursery to Class 12,” according to a press release.

College management and all facets of higher education will now be handled by the Directorate of Higher Education. This reorganization is a component of the government’s continuous reforms meant to enhance the management and effectiveness of the educational sector.

In order to administer tests at the conclusion of the fifth and eighth grades, the Cabinet also agreed to alter the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education, Himachal Rules, 2011. Students will have the extra chance for a re-examination within two months of the results announcement date if a kid does not fulfill the promotion requirements.

“The Cabinet gave its nod to purchase 297 Type-I Electric buses and 24 air-conditioned Super luxury buses in Himachal Road Transport Corporation to facilitate the commuters,” according to the press statement.

The Himachal Pradesh Scheme of State Award for Teachers in the Technical Education Department was also introduced by the Cabinet. Ten awards will be given out under this scheme in six different categories: three for Best Teacher (ITI level), two each for Industry Collaboration Award (Polytechnics and ITIs) and Research Excellence and Innovation Award (Degree level), and one each for Best Teacher (Polytechnics level), Best Teacher (Pharmacy College level), and Best Teacher (Engineering College level). Based on the nominee’s achievements in funded research, industry-academia partnership, community participation and outreach, research and development, and academic excellence, prizes will be given out.

“The Cabinet has also decided to allow the issuance of fide Himachali certificates to abandoned and surrendered children who have been living in Child Care Institutions in Himachal Pradesh for 15 years or more, enabling them to apply for jobs and avail benefits under various state government schemes,” the press release stated.

Additionally, it authorized the acquisition of automobiles to improve enforcement and surveillance of illicit mining operations in the state.

“The Cabinet gave its nod to give Government guarantee in favor of HPPCL to raise a term loan of Rs. 1000 crore for the execution of the Shongtong-Karchham Hydro Power Project in the State,” the press statement said.
