Guwahati police busts inter-state vehicle theft gang and arrested six people
Guwahati: According to authorities, Guwahati Police arrested six people Monday after busting an interstate car-lifting gang.
According to Diganta Barah, the Commissioner of Police in Guwahati, a team from the Gorchuk police station conducted an operation and captured three experienced bike lifters based on confidential information obtained from a trustworthy source.
The individuals that were arrested were named as Md. Jakir Hussain (27), Md. Rafiq Ali (30), and Md. Abdul Hanif Seikh (32).
“The Gorchuk police station team in Jowai, Meghalaya, set up a trap based on the confessions of the people who were arrested. As a result, three more experienced bike lifters and receivers were captured by Meghalaya police close to the Bangladeshi border in Meghalaya,” Diganta Barah said.
Dibormi Amrynsong (26), Tunadahun Matra (25), and Rimiki Suchiag (22) were the recipients that were caught.
“One stolen bike was later found within a hamlet on Jowai Bypass after a thorough questioning. In the nearby regions of the India-Bangladesh border, two more motorcycles were found in Karkhana hamlet, which is within the jurisdiction of the Muktapur police station, according to Diganta Barah.
“During the investigation, a large number of implements and lock-breaking equipment, including 3 master keys and one iron cutter hand saw, were recovered from the procession of the apprehended accused persons,” he said.
