According to police, the Delhi Police arrested a 21-year-old cybercriminal from Kolkata on December 19 and confiscated three proprietorship stamps, five cell phones, one laptop, five checkbooks, twenty debit cards, and one passbook from him.

According to the police, Ayan Das, the accused, was a resident of Kolkata who reportedly gave bank accounts to scammers on a commission basis and actively supplied these accounts for illegal operations.

When Srinivasan, the victim, filed a complaint about a cyber fraud of Rs 23 lakh at the Cyber Police Station in South West Delhi, the police began an inquiry. The victim was connected to a WhatsApp group called “MFSL Stock Chat 40,” where administrators offered stock recommendations at a discount, according to authorities.

After more than a month of following that group’s study, Srinivasan received an invitation to open a Marwadi Security Quota VIP rapid trading account and sent Marwadi Financial Services his enrollment information, according to the police.

The victim invested in the initial public offering (IPO) of “Kronox Lab Sciences” by transferring Rs 23 lakh in four transactions. They were given 25,000 shares that were listed on their platform.

On the site, Srinivasan’s portfolio worth seemed to increase to Rs 39 lakh. Refunds were stopped when he tried to take out Rs 20 lakh, and he was advised to wait for the month-end settlement.

The victim was urged to deposit more money in order to obtain his payout after being repeatedly refused the opportunity to take his earnings. The complainant came to the realization that he had been duped. According to the authorities, he also reported the incident to the Cyber Authorities Station.
