Goa CM Pramod Sawant greets devotees and pilgrims on the feast day of St Francis Xavier
Goa: On Monday, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant wished pilgrims and devotees a time of “spiritual renewal” as they celebrated the feast of St. Francis Xavier and the decennial exhibition of the relics.
“We are fortunate to witness the decennial Exposition of the Sacred Relics of St. Francis Xavier,” he said in his statement. Every 10 years, this solemn exposition serves as a chance for spiritual rejuvenation and reflection on the teachings of the saint. Additionally, it is an opportunity to renew the laity’s zeal to spread the gospel.
Sawant went on to say, “I also take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to the pilgrims, which will conclude on January 5, 2025.” He expressed the hope that the Exposition will foster peace among Goans and bring about the “spiritual renewal.”
CM Sawant went on to say, “It is heartening to know that the theme chosen for this solemn Exposition is, ‘We are Messengers of the Good News.'”
The Chief Minister pointed out that the Goan administration has continuously shown that it is capable of organizing events of this size, which draw visitors from all over the globe as well as India.
“It reiterates the government’s stance of being Swayampurna and Atma Nirbhar in providing world-class facilities and also enables locals to derive benefit from hosting such grand functions, as it attracts people from across the globe,” he said.
In order to ensure the smooth execution of this solemn activity, which involves religious rites and emphasizes Goa’s cultural and religious past, CM Sawant commended the hard work of the Exposition Committee, which was established to manage the event.
On this day, let’s make a commitment to creating societies that are characterized by love, peace, justice, harmony, and fraternity. By helping the underprivileged and disadvantaged in whatever manner we can to lessen their pain, let’s likewise demonstrate the warmth of our light,” he said.
