Giriraj Singh said, only BJP will win in Jharkhand and Maharashtra
On Wednesday, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said he was certain the BJP will win the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
He said that when a “double-engine” administration is put in place in Jharkhand and West Bengal, infiltrators would not be allowed to enter these states.
“Prime Minister Modi will head a two-pronged administration in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Infiltrators entering Jharkhand via Bengal would be halted once the government is established, and infiltrators from Bengal will also be deported once the administration in West Bengal is established,” he said.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) reported that Maharashtra had a voter turnout of 62.05 percent at the end of the high-stakes assembly election polls, while Jharkhand had a turnout of 68.01 percent, which was higher than the 67.04 percent turnout in the 2019 assembly elections.
According to the ECI, calm simultaneous voting was held for all 288 Maharashtra seats and 38 Jharkhand seats (Phase 2).
Even in districts of both states plagued by Left Wing Extremism (LWE), like as Giridih in Jharkhand and Gadchiroli in Maharashtra, the polling process went smoothly.
This marks the end of the two-phase elections for the legislative legislatures of Jharkhand and Maharashtra, as well as by-elections in 48 assembly seats and two parliamentary constituencies spread over 15 states.
Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar, Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, and Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar kept a careful eye on all aspects of the election process, including efforts to increase voter turnout.
Maharashtra registered a voter turnout of 58.22% as of 5 p.m., while Jharkhand recorded 67.59%. On November 13, 43 of Jharkhand’s 81 assembly seats had their first round of voting.
On November 23, the results of the Maharashtra assembly elections and by-elections in a number of states, as well as those for all 81 Jharkhand seats, will be announced.
