Ghaziabad: A truck loaded with LPG cylinders caught fire, no casualties
Ghaziabad: Officials said on Friday that a vehicle carrying LPG cylinders in Bhopura Chowk on Loni Road was “completely doused” after a fire broke out.
“At approximately 4.35 am, we received information regarding a fire that broke out in a truck laden with LPG cylinders,” Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal told the media report. Firefighters hurried to the scene. The surrounding homes were evacuated by the police. Two or three homes and a few cars had been affected by the fire. The fire has been extinguished entirely. There has been no recorded causality.
Firefighters attempted to manage the situation after fire tenders were sent to the scene right away. As a precaution, nearby homes were evacuated. Authorities confirmed that there were no reported injuries in the event.
Sachin, a local, described what transpired in the early hours: “At approximately three or three thirty in the morning, we heard big explosions. Together with our kids, we hurried out of the home. Cylinder explosions continued to occur. Nearby was a wood storage facility. Our home is in terrible condition right now. The car’s windows are broken. Our home has been hit by cylinders that were launched into the air. The terrace’s grills are shattered.Our shop’s shutters and the water tanker’s shutters are broken.
Three cylinders fell in his home, including one on the first floor and one in the living room, according to Sandeep, another occupant. “The home was hit by three cylinders. Even in the living room, the cylinder touched down. The pressure must have been immense when it hit the first level.There is no security at this illicit wood godown…The kids were frightened. It was difficult to leave this place quickly. By God’s mercy, we were all unharmed,” Sandeep told ANI.
