Following the bus disaster, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami issued an order for a rigorous vehicle inspection program

Dehradun: In response to the bus accident in Bhimtal, Kumaon, which claimed five lives, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that extensive inspection campaigns will be conducted to examine the driver’s licenses and other pertinent documentation of vehicles arriving from other states.

In order to reduce traffic accidents, the Chief Minister also gave Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat instructions to carry out thorough inspection campaigns in the mountainous regions. In the Kumaon division, Rawat has been tasked with overseeing traffic.

At least 21 people were hurt in the bus accident, and two of those who were seriously hurt were taken by medical helicopter to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh. This happened after CM Dhami assured authorities that the government was dedicated to helping the victims and gave them instructions to fly the wounded to AIIMS Rishikesh if needed.

He visited the wounded people who were hospitalized at the Dr. Sushila Tiwari Hospital after suffering injuries in the bus accident on Wednesday while in Haldwani on Thursday for a one-day event. The Chief Minister gave the hospital’s management instructions to improve care.

On December 25, CM Dhami gave the families of those killed in the tragedy instructions to get Rs 10 lakh in assistance. The Uttarakhand Transport Corporation would give Rs 5 lakh of the Rs 10 lakh relief sum, while the Road Safety Fund will contribute Rs 2 lakh and the CM’s Discretionary Fund will contribute Rs 3 lakh.

Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered between Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 for individuals with minor injuries and Rs 3 lakh for those who were critically hurt.

Relief would be given to the victims and wounded in the bus tragedy that happened in Okhal, Bhimtal, per Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami’s directives. According to the CMO announcement, the relatives of the dead would get Rs 10 lakh in assistance, the badly wounded will receive Rs 3 lakh, and the rest will receive Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000.

CM Dhami also expressed gratitude to the local people for their support in assisting the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and police in rescuing the victims.

“The fact that the locals banded together to help the police and SDRF during this trying period after the Bhimtal road accident demonstrates that our state’s citizenry is always willing to lend a hand to one another. Sincere gratitude to everyone! Many individuals were promptly saved thanks to your assistance. The locals and rescue crews’ commitment and diligence are quite admirable,” he wrote on X.

On Wednesday, a bus in Bhimtal, Nainital, plunged down a 100-meter-deep ravine, killing four people and injuring at least 21 more. According to Jagdish Chandra, SP Nainital, the bus plunged down the canyon when the driver lost control of it.
