EAM Jaishankar, US counterpart Blinken review progress of India-US partnership over last four years
On Thursday, US counterpart Antony Blinken met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Washington, DC. The two presidents agreed that collaboration has improved in many areas as they examined the development of the India-US alliance during the last four years.
Jaishankar said he is certain that the US-Indian relationship would benefit both countries and the world at large.
“It was a pleasure to meet @SecBlinken yesterday evening in Washington, D.C.,” Jaishankar said in a post on X. examined how the US-India alliance has developed over the last four years.
We both agreed that our comfort levels had increased in tandem with the strengthening of our collaboration in many areas. I’m sure that the US-India partnership will benefit both our countries and the world at large.
At the moment, Jaishankar is in the United States on a formal visit. He met with Consul Generals from New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta when he was there, as well as India’s Ambassador to the US, Vinay Kwatra.
With an emphasis on technology, commerce, and investments, the leaders spoke about ways to strengthen the relationship between the US and India.

Additionally, Jaishankar posted on X his thoughts on how to better serve the Indian community in the United States.
EAM S Jaishankar had earlier Thursday’s meeting in Washington, DC, with Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor of the United States. According to Jaishankar, the two leaders discussed a broad range of topics, including the state of the India-US strategic alliance and the latest regional and international events.
“It was nice to meet US NSA @JakeSullivan46 this morning in Washington, D.C. a comprehensive conversation on the development of the strategic alliance between the US and India. our opinions on current events in the area and throughout the world,” Jaishankar wrote on X.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) previously said in a statement that “He will be meeting counterparts to discuss key bilateral, regional, and global issues.” Additionally, EAM will preside over a meeting of Indian consuls in the United States during the visit.
The United States and India met Tuesday with senior officials. US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma emphasized their shared commitment to strengthening India-US ties while welcoming Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra.
“Great to welcome Indian Foreign Secretary @VikramMisri & Indian Ambassador to the US @AmbVMKwatra back to @StateDept, alongside @DeputySecState Campbell,” Verma said in a tweet shared on X on Tuesday. Relationships between the US and India are based on mutual trust, shared values, and prosperity for everyone, and we look forward to growing further.”
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States earlier in September, when he attended the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, the External Affairs Minister’s visit follows.
