Drama over Anna University sexual harassment incident erupts on the first day of assembly session in Tamil Nadu in the new year

Speaker Appavu ordered the eviction of AIADMK MLAs from the assembly hall on the first day of the assembly session in Tamil Nadu over the Anna University sexual assault incident, and on Monday, the BJP and PMK boycotted the assembly session in protest of the government’s handling of the Anna University incident.

At the Secretariat’s entrance, AIADMK MLAs demonstrated with signs, calling for justice for the students involved in the sexual assault case at Anna University.

“We have doubts in the Anna University case, so only on behalf of AIADMK did our women advocates go to the court,” stated Edappadi Palaniswami, the Leader of the Opposition, in a news conference. AIADMK “Everyone wants the same thing: Who is the sir?” remarked MLA C. Vijayabhaskar. Everyone at Anna University is completely aware of what transpired. The commissioner and the law minister also made contradictory claims. There’s another person involved. Because they have connections, the government is concealing. We want an open inquiry.

Our LoP brought up this topic in Assembly today, and we left. This is not a place for politics. Here, it is made quite evident that a pupil is impacted. of the oldest colleges in our country. Parents are afraid and unhappy about sending their girls to college. Justice is thus required right now. No plan. We have advocated on behalf of the impacted youngster. We’ll keep protesting.

G K Mani, a PMK MLA, stated: “The PMK leaves the legislature. The government at Anna University failed to act appropriately. Anyone who protests against the Anna University problem is highly condemned by us; it is deplorable that they have been imprisoned.

The incumbent DMK administration is expected to have difficulties throughout this session. The DMK administration has been accused by a number of political groups of being tardy to address the sexual assault issue at Anna University.
