“During an occasion, the prime minister said that certain individuals are attempting to divide the nation based on language. Should we not also question your attempts to split the nation in the name of religion if you are unsure that we would do so in the name of language? “I said,” Raja said.

He said that if the PM keeps talking about the language problem, there would be a lot of opposition. In the event that you continue to use language, our Deputy Chief (Minister) will say, ‘Go back, Modi.’ “Shut up Modi” is what we (MMK MPs) will shout in Parliament.

According to Raja, “We are not separatists, but it is you who force us.” He also said that his party does not support separatism.

Speaking out against the Union government’s three-language strategy, Tamil Nadu Congress President Selvaperunthagai said, “BJP is trying to insert RSS ideology in TN; BJP’s dream will never come true.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that because India’s languages complement and influence one another, there has never been hostility between them. He advised avoiding misunderstandings that sow division on the basis of language, stating that the administration views all of the nation’s languages as mainstream.

“Antagonism between Indian languages has never existed. Languages have always enriched and impacted one another. Our common linguistic past often offers a compelling counterargument to attempts to divide people based on language. It is our civic duty to disassociate ourselves from these myths and to value and promote all languages. For this reason, we are considering all of the nation’s languages as major languages today,” the prime minister said.

In a previous letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin was sharply attacked by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for allegedly voicing “imaginary concerns” motivated by politics.

Pradhan stressed at a press conference that states are not being forced to adopt any particular language under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. “I would want to reiterate that the NEP does not advocate forcing any language on a state’s kids. Therefore, the NEP is not in any way advocating for Tamil Nadu to adopt Hindi,” Dharmendra Pradhan said.

The distribution of ‘Samagra Shiksha’ money for the state was the subject of a letter from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Stalin wrote to voice his worries over Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s declaration that money for Tamil Nadu’s “Samagra Shiksha” would not be disbursed unless the state adopted the “three language” strategy outlined in NEP 2020.
