DK Shivakumar will issue show cause notice to MLA Gaviyappa
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that the government will not stop guarantee programs and that Congress MLA HR Gaviyappa would get a show-cause notice from the party for his recent remarks on guarantees.
“I don’t think that he has stated this,” Shivakumar told reporters at Ambedkar Bhavan. If so, we will send him a show-cause notice to provide an explanation. We have made promises to the state’s citizens, and we will uphold them no matter what. No Congress party MLA should criticize the assurance plans; if they do, we’ll take action.”
When asked about Gaviyappa’s purported comments, he said.
This comes after HR Gaviyappa, a Congress MLA from Vijayanagar, said that the government’s funds were being strained by the election assurance programs.
It’s becoming harder to offer homes because of guarantee programs, therefore we’re asking CM to at least give up two schemes, like the Shakti plan, and give houses instead. We’ll support CM in whatever decision he makes. We will support CM in his efforts to mobilize funding, regardless of the outcome,” he said.
Shivakumar said that he will be there at the November 28 swearing-in event for Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand chief minister-designate.
“I’m going to Delhi to discuss the Mahadayi project with Union Ministers. Additionally, I shall participate in Hemanth Soren’s swearing-in ceremony as Jharkhand’s CM-designate. The arrangements for commemorating the 100th anniversary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) convention in Belagavi would also be discussed by me with our leaders,” he said.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said, “Very happy if he can get the approval for Mahadayi,” when asked whether the Center will approve the project as soon as possible. Deve Gowda, the former prime minister, had also promised to get sanction for the Mekedatu project.”
“Of course, Congress head office is like our temple,” he stated in reference to his meeting with the Congress High Command. When I get there, I’ll meet with our leaders.”
