Deputy CM Vijay Sharma praised the action of security forces against Naxalites and said this

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma of Chhattisgarh said on Thursday that the fight against the Naxalites has advanced significantly and that decisions are made based on reliable information.

According to him, 219 Naxalites have been murdered in the last five years, and 220 have been eradicated this year alone. Seven Naxalites were also slain in a continuing conflict.

“Action is being done today based on information… There have been 219 Naxalites slain in the last five years, including 220 this year.He said that seven Naxalites had been slain in the conflict, which was still ongoing.

Seven Naxalites were killed in sporadic clashes between the security forces and Naxalites earlier Thursday in a coordinated anti-Naxal operation including DRG, CRPF, and STF.

During the search, the corpses of seven Naxalites in uniform had been found.

On December 10, the DRG, CRPF, and STF from the districts of Narayanpur, Dantewada, Jagdalpur, and Kondagaon launched a coordinated anti-Naxal operation against South Abujhmad.

Bastar Police said that a gunfight between security personnel and Naxalites has been going on in the Southern Abujhmad forest on the Dantewada Narayanpur border since three in the morning.

“Exchange of fire between security forces and Naxalites underway since 3 am in the forest of Southern Abujhmad on Dantewada Narayanpur border,” claimed the Bastar Police.

The search is still ongoing, according to IG Bastar P. Sundarraj, and specific details will be released after it is over.

Vishnu Deo Sai, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, also praised the security forces’ efforts.

Earlier on Wednesday, a Naxal was killed in a clash with police personnel in the Bijapur area of Chhattisgarh. Two District Reserve Guard (DRG) members were hurt when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) detonated nearby, according to Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav.
