Delhi Police is investigating the suicide of 40-year-old businessman Puneet Khurana
New Delhi: The Delhi Police are looking into the suicide of Puneet Khurana, a 40-year-old businessman who passed away in Model Town on Tuesday. He was accused of being killed by his wife and her relatives due to marital strife and mental abuse.
Bhisham Singh, DCP North West Delhi, informed the media report that the deceased’s father, Puneet Khurana, said that his son was experiencing marital strife and that his daughter-in-law had tormented him, causing him to commit suicide.
“The family’s accusations are being checked, and we have taken the dead man’s cell phone. Both families are involved in the investigation that is now under progress. A divorce lawsuit is also pending, and Manika’s family has filed counter-allegations,” he said.
The deceased’s sister said that Puneet was being psychologically tortured and harassed by his wife, her sister, and parents. Puneet also taped a video in which he described the specifics of the torment he had experienced.
He was subjected to mental abuse and harassment by her, her sister, and her parents. Puneet describes the specifics of the abuse he experienced in a 59-minute video tape. The sister said that the lady had also compromised Puneet’s social media accounts.
In the meantime, Puneet’s mother said, “Puneet’s wife used to continuously torture him… I want him to get justice.
Authorities got information about the event on Tuesday at around 4 p.m., according to the official police statement. When the police arrived at the scene, they reported that Puneet’s corpse was discovered unconscious on a bed with a ligature mark across the neck. According to police, he was hanged to death.
Police claim that on the evening of December 30, Puneet had a conversation with his wife, which they now have on tape. A portion of the property and a divorce were topics of discussion between the couple.
According to the victim’s relatives, Puneet taped a 59-minute video on his phone before taking his own life, in which he claimed that his wife and her family were pestering him.
According to sources who spoke to the media report, the couple got married in 2016 but started experiencing problems two years later. They decided to get divorce by mutual agreement, and the case was in court.
The deceased’s father, Trilok Nath Khurana, created a single cell phone.
