Delhi Police arrested a snatcher named Jitendra Kumar, alias Suja, a history-sheeter criminal
New Delhi: On Tuesday, Delhi Police detained Jitender Kumar, also known as Suja, a kidnapper. A repeat criminal, Jitender has a history of involvement in 75 incidents, including those involving dacoity, snatching, attempted murder, the Arms Act, motor vehicle theft, and injury.
Police said that on Saturday, while on one of these precautionary patrols, a squad saw a guy riding a bike and acting strangely close to the Sub Registrar Office in Rajouri Garden. He attempted to flee when the crew gave him the all-clear to halt, but after a short pursuit, he was overcome.
It was revealed that the defendant was Jitender Kumar, also known as Suja. He was found in possession of a live cartridge and a handgun produced in the nation. It was discovered that the scooter he was riding was stolen from the jurisdiction of the Tilak Nagar Police Station.
Jitender revealed under questioning that he and his partner Sanjeev had used a gray Jupiter scooty to carry out many chain snatchings and robberies. Now, the authorities are looking for his fugitive friends, Vicky and Sanjeev.
Before each incident, the two allegedly changed the scooty’s license plate and sold the stolen goods to Vicky, a Pratap Nagar resident. Four snatching cases in the Central District and ten snatching and one motor vehicle theft (MVT) cases in the West District have been resolved so far.
Fifteen snatching instances have been linked to the accused, and one MVT case has been resolved.
The Special Staff of the West District had been assigned the responsibility of identifying and addressing the offenders in order to control the growing number of snatching occurrences in the region. After scanning over 300 CCTV cameras, the special staff team was able to partially identify the car that was utilized in almost every street incident.
The accused and his colleagues were found to have committed the offenses using a gray Jupiter scooter with fictitious license plates. To find the offenders, preventative patrols, technological monitoring, and local intelligence were put into place in the impacted West District neighborhoods.
The culprit was apprehended with the help of a special staff squad under the direction of Inspector Rajesh Maurya and overseen by ACP Operations Arvind Kumar.
