Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta gave assurance to the people living in slums

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that ‘achhe din’ is starting for slum dwellers as work would ‘really’ be done for slums and colonies after launching a number of development projects in her constituency of Shalimar Bagh.

According to the Chief Minister, 52,000 apartments that were constructed ten years ago would now be provided to slum residents after renovations, with the Rs 700 crores in money allocated to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) specifically for their welfare.

Criticising the past administrations, Chief Minister Gupta said that they failed to provide for slum dwellers and had deceived the public into believing that the BJP government would not help them. However, the current BJP government is providing for all impoverished people, including basic amenities like water, parks, and restrooms.

The Chief Minister told reporters, “We began the construction of drainage in this slum area today. After years, “Achhe din” for the slum inhabitants is now starting, with work being done for their colonies and slums. Slum inhabitants were only a vote bank for previous regimes, which showed little concern for them. They made them worry that the slums will be cleared by the BJP. The work that begins here today is a message to the slum dwellers that the BJP administration, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is providing for all of the impoverished. They are making sure they have access to basic amenities like parks, water, and restrooms.

“The Delhi administration is committed to finishing these projects. In addition to the Rs 700 crore budget set aside by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) specifically for the welfare of slum residents, CM Gupta said, “We will renovate 52,000 apartments that were ready for occupancy ten years ago and distribute them to slum dwellers.”

The chief minister of Delhi launched a number of development initiatives in Shalimar Bagh, her constituency, earlier today.

“We are beginning the water supply from here today, and you will get it between 6 and 8 am. You will also receive it for 30 minutes in the evening. Speaking to the crowd at Shalimar Bagh, CM Gupta said, “You will now receive water twice a day, as you did not receive it in the evening.”

CM Rekha Gupta called a high-level review meeting with the district magistrates of the city’s eleven revenue districts earlier on Monday.
The meeting’s main objectives were to evaluate revenue districts’ administrative and developmental accomplishments, settle local disputes, and improve departmental cooperation.

Administrative performance, public service delivery, property disputes, encroachments, digitisation of land ownership records, disaster management readiness, and maintaining openness in revenue offices were among the main subjects covered, according to a statement from CM Gupta. She gave all DMs instructions to do routine field checks and have direct conversations with individuals.

“The review meeting with all of the DMs today was really important. We went into great depth on the state of municipal services, the development of e-district services, the digitisation of property records, grievance redressal procedures, and catastrophe preparedness. All authorities received explicit instructions to provide fast, transparent, and citizen-centred services. All public service procedures need accountability and tact,” the chief minister of Delhi said.

She reaffirmed the government’s zero tolerance stance for corruption and ordered strict measures to be taken against any anomalies, especially those pertaining to the EWS group.

The Chief Minister also instructed all DMs to keep a careful eye on problems in their districts, including traffic congestion, encroachments, waterlogging, and cleanliness. She emphasised that administrative attention must be given to resolving these daily issues.
