Delhi: A team of Special Cell arrested two shooters wanted in Mundka murder case
New Delhi: After a short gunfight in Rohini on Thursday night, Delhi police said that a special cell squad had apprehended the two gunmen sought in the Mundka murder case.
Narender, also known as Khilla, a 24-year-old native of Kami Sonepat village in Haryana, has been identified as the culprit. He was in communication with both handlers overseas and Tillu Gang members who were incarcerated, and he is the primary conspirator behind the murder. The second defendant is 22-year-old Abhishek, also known as Ankit, who lives in Panipat, Haryana. He enlisted a co-accused for the murder and is an active shooter.
“Insp. Sandeep Dabas’s squad obtained precise information on the movement of shooters in the Rohini area on December 5. The team set up a trap as a result, and at around 8:20 p.m., they observed two individuals on a motorbike on Karala, Phirni Road, Rohini. The informer identified them as Khilla and Ankit Jurasi, who were sought in connection with the crime. After revealing their identities, the police team gave them the signal to halt, but the accused attempted to run away while shooting at the police party. The police team replied in self-defense, and the accused were defeated and taken into custody, according to Delhi police.
During the shootout, both of the accused suffered injuries to their legs.
Amit Lakra, 26, who had been freed on bail in connection with a robbery case, was shot dead in Mundka on the evening of November 9. In a social media post, the rival Tillu Tajpuriya-Davender Bambiha Gang claimed responsibility for this murder.
One of the shooters in the Mundka Murder case, Nihal, a resident of Yamuna Nagar, was previously taken into custody by the Special Cell SWR team during a gunfight on the intervening night of November 13–14. Two primary shooters were still at large and eluding capture; however, Delhi Police captured one other suspect.
In the case under Sections 103/1(3)/5 BNS and 25/27 Arms Act P.S. Mundka Delhi, both of the defendants were sought.
