Delhi: 25-year-old man arrested in rape case after chasing him for 1500 km to Surat in Gujarat

New Delhi: Following a protracted 1500-kilometer pursuit to Surat, Gujarat, a 25-year-old man implicated in a rape case in Badli, Delhi, was taken into custody by the Delhi Crime Branch team. According to Delhi police on Thursday, the accused has been evading capture ever since the case was registered.

In the current instance, a proclamation procedure was also started against the defendants. After a lengthy 1500-kilometer pursuit, the offender was captured by the Surat, Gujarat-based NR-I Crime Branch.

“While working together, the accused and the complainant, a Bagwan Pura employee, became friends. He took obscene pictures and films while administering an intoxicating drug and committing sexual assault under the guise of trust. He coerced the victim into having more sex by using these tapes as blackmail. Because of the victim’s brave reporting, the case was registered at PS SP Badli, according to Delhi police.

According to Delhi police, actionable information on December 16 showed that the accused was hiding in Jai Ambey Nagar, Surat, Gujarat. The squad moved quickly to carry out a raid, capture the accused, and bring him to court.

Kuldeep, the accused, comes from the Uttar Pradesh district of Deoria and finished the eighth grade of school. According to Delhi police, he has been living in Bawana, Delhi, for the last five to six years and works as a welder at a nearby factory.

Police also claimed that a cell phone that had pornographic images and videos was used for sextortion and blackmail.
