Congress leader Tariq Anwar criticised Ramesh Bidhuri’s remarks on Priyanka Gandhi, calling it “shameful”
Ramesh Bidhuri, the BJP candidate for the next Delhi Assembly elections, was criticized by Congress politician Tariq Anwar on Sunday for his recent comment on Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, calling it “shameful.”
In a speech, the BJP candidate for the Kalkaji Assembly seat said that if the BJP wins, they will make all of Kalkaji’s roads resemble Priyanka Gandhi’s “cheeks.”
“I think it’s dishonorable. “It is wrong and should be stopped for any woman, regardless of her identity, to compare herself to anything,” Anwar said.
Additionally, he said that since the BJP took office, the Prime Minister has used such language more often, which he called “condemnable.” According to Anwar, the Prime Minister’s rhetoric prompted his fans and followers to act in a same manner.
Unfortunately, we are seeing that ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party took control. It is also unacceptable the rhetoric used by the nation’s prime minister. It’s clear that his fans and followers will use the same language,” Anwar said.
Anwar questioned the emphasis on Sikhs in relation to Delhi LG VK Saxena’s decision to lessen employment requirements for victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, asking, “Why are Sikhs getting such relaxation? Everyone who has experienced such experiences ought to get the same advantages.
He went on to say that the government ought to provide comparable assistance to everyone who had endured hardships of this kind, not only those impacted by the 1984 riots.
“Wherever such things have happened, people should be given benefits from the government,” he said.
Earlier on Sunday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena granted 88 job applications from victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots a complete relaxation of the educational requirements and an age relaxation of up to 55 years.
A statement from the Delhi LG office said that this waiver has been authorized for their recruitment as Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) in the government service. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, governmental officials, and victim organizations had met with LG lately and had repeatedly stated these arguments.
The Delhi LG had previously acquired an age relaxation for 22 candidates and fully relaxed the educational qualification standards for 50 applicants. In 2006, the Revenue Department held a special campaign and appointed 72 candidates.
