Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit targeted the conduct of the AAP government in Delhi during the Covid-19 pandemic

New Delhi: Congress politician Sandeep Dikshit attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration in Delhi for their actions during the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak, claiming that the residents of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh were forced to leave the city while they were left without food or water.

During the outbreak, Dikshit claimed to have seen thousands of people strolling along the Agra route near the Delhi border.

“During the COVID-19 outbreak, there were lengthy lines at the Delhi border (of people from UP and Bihar).” On the Agra highway, thousands of people were strolling. They were strolling with their kids. “They were ejected from Delhi without any food or drink,” Dikshit, a Congress contender for the New Delhi constituency, told the media report.

Speaking on the subject of the exclusion of Jaats from Delhi’s Other Backward Classes (OBC) list, Dikshit said that there were processes in place to add a group to the quota list and recommended that the AAP administration take care of their own business first rather than composing letters.

“What have they been up to over the last decade? Why didn’t they bring up the Jaats matter sooner? They ought to have said, “We’ll get you reservations in Delhi,” in response to the Jaat protest in Haryana. Procedures for listing a new community for reservations have been established. OBC or SC/ST commissions get the recommendations. That should be done first by the Delhi government. Dikshit said, “He (Arvind Kejriwal) is merely writing a letter to PM Modi to demonstrate that no one is permitting him to work.”

In response to the Trinamool Congress’ (TMC) extension of support for the AAP ahead of the assembly elections, Dikshit said that the AAP’s “zero” standing outside of Delhi and Punjab was the sole reason coalition members in other states were backing it. In the meanwhile, he said, if the Congress takes power in Delhi, it can fight them locally.

“If it makes an impression in Delhi, the alliance partners in other states believe that the Congress may challenge them locally. For this reason, they back the AAP, which is still unpopular outside of Delhi and Punjab. The Congress leader said, “At least today, these parties (supporting the AAP) have no base of support in the nation’s capital.”

AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal was accused earlier Thursday by Janta Dal (United) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha of “hating” the people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Kejriwal’s recent statements on “fake voters” from these states were sharply criticized by Jha, who also called for an urgent apology from Kejriwal.

The BJP and AAP have been accused of being “anti-reservation” by Chattar Singh, the former head of the Delhi government’s OBC Commission. According to Chattar Singh, Kejriwal’s attitude is anti-reservation and he either lacks knowledge or is unwilling to share it with the public.
