CM Siddaramaiah inaugurated the 371-bed Jayadeva Hospital in Kalaburagi and called it an important facility
On Sunday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah officially opened the Jayadeva hospital in Kalaburagi, the state’s 371-bed institution, emphasizing its significance to the Kalyan Karnataka healthcare system.
Previously referred to as the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, the northern portion of the state is made up of many districts, including Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, and others.
“The Jayadeva Hospital, which was opened today, is significant to Kalyan, Karnataka’s healthcare system. At a news conference in Kalaburagi, the Karnataka chief minister said, “We are inaugurating a 371-bed hospital here today. (Article) 371J was enacted as a result of the struggle of Mallikarjuna Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.”
A decision by the Karnataka Assembly and Legislative Council to provide specific provisions for the development of the Kalyan Karnataka area led to the passage of the Constitution (118th Amendment Bill), 2012, which added Article 371 J to the Constitution. The measure established a development board for the area, guaranteed funding for it, and guaranteed reservations for residents in state government jobs and educational and vocational training facilities.
According to the chief minister, the administration is also looking into the potential of creating a distinct ministry just for the Kalyan Karnataka area.
For long years, there has been a call for Kalyan Karnataka to have its own ministry. We want to establish a distinct ministry,” he said.
BJP MLC CT Ravi’s reported disparaging statements toward state minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar were also denounced by him as “a criminal offence.”
“The language that CT Ravi used on Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar was abhorrent. The offense is criminal. It is sad that Ravi, the former national general secretary of the BJP, stated such a thing, Siddaramaiah added.
“Other Vidhan Parishad members have heard Ravi use that word,” he said.
CT Following a complaint by state minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar that Ravi had used disparaging language against her in the Legislative Council, the Bengaluru police detained Ravi on Thursday. The Karnataka High Court thereafter issued an interim order that led to his release.
Ravi questioned his detention after being freed, saying he was unjustly moved between four districts.
“What led to my arrest? Why did I keep being moved to other districts? CM claims that they took this action for security concerns. They find it difficult to provide security in PS, but they have no trouble providing security in a remote location,” the BJP leader said.
