They addressed a number of development initiatives ongoing between the two states during their meeting at Jodhpur House in New Delhi.

In an article on X, CM Mohan Yadav “Today, during my stay in Delhi, I had a cordial meeting with the Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma ji at Jodhpur House and discussed various development projects going on between the two states.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Khajuraho in Chhatarpur district on December 25 to lay the groundwork for the Ken-Betwa river connection project, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said earlier today. Yadav further affirmed that the project would transform the future of the Bundelkhand area.

Chief Minister Yadav also emphasized that PM Modi took the initiative to carry out former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision of the river linking campaign, and that the Ken-Betwa link project was a singular example of collaboration and coordination between the Central Government, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

He said that the ambitious and multifunctional Ken-Betwa Link Project will transform the future of the whole Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh area of Bundelkhand.

Farmers would get enough water for industrial and drinking purposes as well as enough for irrigation thanks to this initiative. In addition to the region’s social and economic development, tourism will be encouraged and new job possibilities will be generated. According to an official announcement, groundwater conditions in the drought-stricken Bundelkhand area will also improve.

The biggest irrigation project in the nation to use an underground pressured pipe irrigation system is the Ken-Betwa Link National Project, according to the CM. In the Madhya Pradesh districts of Chhatarpur and Panna, this project is being built on the Ken River.

A 77-meter-tall, 2.13-kilometer-long Daudhan Dam and two tunnels (upper level 1.9 km and lower level 1.1 km) will be built on the Ken River in the Panna Tiger Reserve as part of the project. The dam will contain 2,853 million cubic meters of water.

According to the statement, the 221-kilometer connection canal from the Daudhan Dam on the Ken River would transmit the excess water from the Ken River to the Betwa River, supplying drinking water and agriculture facilities in both states.
