CM Manik Saha: Various policies and programs have to be formulated to ensure quality education

Agartala: Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Thursday that creating policies and initiatives to guarantee high-quality education at educational institutions is the state government’s main goal.

“The children of today will shape tomorrow. From an early age, educators will need to strive to fortify their foundation. The state government’s primary goal is to create rules and initiatives that guarantee high-quality instruction in educational establishments. One of the goals of the education industry is to provide loans and scholarships to worthy students, according to Saha.

Following the opening of the state-level Teaching Learning Material (TLM) competition and exhibition at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, the Chief Minister made these statements.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that a structure cannot be built to its full height if its foundation is weak. Children’s foundations should also be reinforced from an early age.

“The education department deserves great praise for managing these educational resources at such a minimal cost. To enhance the educational system, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi created the National Education Policy. Additionally, a system for producing these teaching-learning resources is part of the National Education Policy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said again and time again that the destiny of the nation or the planet would rest with the knowledgeable.

Without knowledge, nothing is possible. Without a solid basis, progress is impossible. “Where we did not have the opportunity or appropriate management in the past, the Education Department has taken the initiative to identify and address the gaps,” he added.

The objective is to attain basic reading and numeracy abilities by 2026–2027, according to Saha.

“On July 5, 2021, the Nipun Mission was introduced statewide. On November 18, 2022, Nipun Tripura was introduced in the state. We are now seeing the outcomes of that endeavor. The government is working toward our aim of having all schools achieve high-quality outcomes. About 150,000 youngsters in a tiny state like Tripura are in the Nipun Mission’s target age range, and 12,000 instructors help carry it out. Accordingly, these instructors are receiving training,” Saha said.

According to him, the Nipun Tripura Mission oversees 4,227 government and government-aided schools.

With the help of Nipun Tripura’s endeavors, this program covers 10,182 instructors and over 90,000 pupils in pre-primary through second grade. Teachers are the primary force behind this objective and have been instrumental in Nipun Tripura’s success. Today’s display included schools from many districts, and all of them made a concerted effort to do their best,” Dr. Saha stated.

“Innovative teaching methods in classrooms should continue in the future,” said Saha, the state’s education minister. He pointed out that when young students do their assignments using worksheets, it gives instructors a feeling of accomplishment and is highly encouraging.

According to him, the competition was first set up at the block level, using 20 teaching-learning resources chosen from each district—10 for number theory and 10 for literacy.

He emphasized that with funding and the department’s appropriate actions, these teaching-learning resources should be further enhanced and made sustainable.

Distinguished attendees at the ceremony included Director NC Sharma, Director of SCERT L. Darlong, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Subhakarananda Maharaj, Special Secretary of the Education Department Ravel Hemendra Kumar, and other top executives.
