CM Mamata Banerjee warns PM Narendra Modi about protests related to Kolkata doctor rape case

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received a warning from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over demonstrations and rallies related to the rape case of a doctor in Kolkata. In the early hours of August 9, there were widespread demonstrations throughout the nation in response to the alleged gangraping and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital within the facility’s historic hall.

The State Secretariat of the West Bengal government is housed in “Nabanna Abhijan,” and a recent protest march in Kolkata descended into violence when demonstrators and security personnel engaged in combat. Tear gas and water cannons were deployed by police to disperse the gathering mob.

During a march towards the State Secretariat, police fire water cannons, and Paschimbanga Chhatrasamaz calls Nabanna.

After the trainee doctor was raped and killed, Mamata Banerjee said the next day that PM Narendra Modi was using the BJP to “cause fire in Bengal” and threatened that “if you burn Bengal, other states including Assam, North-East, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Delhi too shall burn and your chair will be toppled.”

Assam, the Northeast, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Delhi would all burn if Bengal is set on fire! Your chair will be overturned by us – Mamata Banerjee

“Some people think this is Bangladesh,” Mamata Banerjee said at a public speech in Kolkata. I like Bangladesh because their language and culture are similar to ours. But never forget that India and Bangladesh are independent nations. Here, Modi Babu is stoking the flames with his party.”

“Assam, the Northeast, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Delhi will all burn if you destroy Bengal! She threatened to “topple your chair,” which elicited stern replies from prominent leaders and chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states.

IN WHAT WAY DID THE BJP ANSWER MAMATA BANERJEE’S WARNING?
Himanta Biswa Sharma, the chief minister of Assam, retaliated against Mamata Banerjee, stating, “Didi, how could you? Avoid giving us the red eye. Don’t even attempt to use your failed politics to set India on fire. You shouldn’t use rhetoric that divides people.

The Assam Minister, Pijush Hazarika, refuted the statement that “if Bengal burns, so will Assam,” asserting that Mamata Banerjee is unable to “bully us.”

She is unable to intimidate or frighten us. She is threatening us and is unable to maintain law and order in her state. I assure you that it will not occur in Assam. Mamata Banerjee is a longstanding CM and a highly senior politician; she ought to be able to talk in front of an audience. I vehemently denounce it,” he said.

Mamata Banerjee “straight away threatened doctors” with her comments, according to BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi.
