Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for opening four new Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state
Dehradun: The Union Cabinet’s decision to establish four new Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh.
“The Union Cabinet has authorized 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas nationwide, led by the esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Four more Kendriya Vidyalayas will also open in Uttarakhand as a result of this historic decision,” Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said in a post on X.
According to CM Dhami, the schools would be constructed at an anticipated cost of Rs 5,872.08 crores, educating 82,560 kids and generating 5,388 permanent jobs.
“The Honorable Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet have my sincere appreciation and congratulations for this decision on behalf of the entire Uttarakhand population.” CM Dhami stated on X that this initiative will not only set new standards for quality education in the nation but also pave the way for modern and accessible education in remote areas. These schools will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 5,872.08 crores (approx.), which will provide quality education to 82,560 students and create 5,388 permanent jobs.”
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs said in a news release that the four new Kendriya Vidyalayas in Uttarakhand would open in the districts of Tehri Garhwal, Almora, and Pauri Garhwal.
Prior to this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for the Union Cabinet’s decision to establish 85 Kendriya Vidyalayas and 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas.

The Rs8,231.9 crore project will help train more young people in top-notch education, which would hasten Modi Ji’s goal of creating a Viksit Bharat. Millions of dreams will be nurtured by these new institutions.
The enlargement of one existing Kendriya Vidyalaya and the establishment of 85 new ones were authorized by the Union Cabinet. More pupils nationwide will have access to educational opportunities as a result of this development. Additionally, 28 additional Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs) in areas not yet included in the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme were authorized by the cabinet.
It is anticipated that these changes will benefit about 15,680 pupils via the new NVs and 82,560 students through the new KVs.
Based on the information at hand, a total of Rs 8,232 crore has been set aside for the construction of these schools, of which Rs 2,360 crore has been set aside for the NVs and Rs 5,872 crore for the new KVs.
Around 6,700 employment possibilities will also be created by the establishment of these schools, including 1,316 regular positions for NVs and 5,388 regular positions for KVs. In addition to boosting jobs, this would improve India’s educational system. ‘PM Shri’ schools have been assigned to almost all of the new KVs and NVs.
A number of states will get the new KVs and NVs. Among other states, Andhra Pradesh will get eight KVs, Madhya Pradesh eleven, and Uttar Pradesh five. As part of this statewide expansion initiative, Arunachal Pradesh would get eight NVs, Assam six, and Telangana seven.
