Panaji: According to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the administration is working to increase the number of people engaged in fishing in order to boost the state’s blue economy.
According to a press release, he was addressing the Department of Fisheries’ Secretariat’s pre-launch event for the Aqua Goa Mega Fish Festival, which will take place at Campal Ground from January 10 to 12.
According to the statement, the Department of Fisheries has planned a number of events to commemorate the occasion, including competitions for both adults and children, live performances, seminars aimed at enhancing capacity, gastronomic culture, an aquarium gallery, and commercial booths.
The Chief Minister said that a number of events will take place, including an informational aquarium exhibit, a live program for entertainment and cuisine culture, and a capacity-building workshop to teach understanding of the fishing industry.

The goal of the festival, according to Fisheries Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar, is to provide the stakeholders a place to meet and communicate for business-to-business (B2B) objectives and to learn about cutting-edge methods of fishing, marketing, trade, etc. A workshop would be held to teach young people about the fishing industry, and stalls would be put up to showcase the different fishing-related equipment. He urged everyone to work together to make this event a success, saying that the huge fish is a chance for everyone to learn about Goa’s rich fish culture.
