The CMO stated that the following roads have been approved: Rs 27.75 crore for a 22.4 km stretch to the Pethapur-Nardipur-Kherwa road; Rs 18.02 crore for 31.85 km to Jamnagar-Lalpur-Verad; Rs 23.45 for 24 km to Nadiad-Petlad-Khambhat; Rs 19.98 crore for 20.45 km to Chikhli-Dharampur; and Rs 42.51 crore for 43.50 km to Bhuj-Mundra.

“Over the past two years, the Gujarat State Road Development Corporation has undertaken projects worth Rs 2,999 crore to construct, resurface, and widen important roads across the state,” said the statement.

Under the Shramik Basera Yojana, the Gujarat chief minister also began building temporary housing facilities in four of the state’s largest cities earlier on December 17.

The locations in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, and Vadodara were opened by Chief Minister Patel.

Another statement claims that this effort intends to improve living circumstances for the workers by constructing well-equipped housing facilities at 17 critical sites around the state’s major cities.

For a low fee of about Rs5 per day, the program provides construction workers with prefabricated housing units furnished with basic utilities, guaranteeing them comfortable lodging close to their areas of employment.

According to the statement, rented accommodation at heavily discounted rates would be made available to registered construction workers and their families who are associated with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Notably, there will be no payment for accommodations for recipient workers’ children who are six years of age or less. Ideally situated within a kilometer of the workers’ places of employment, these well-equipped dwelling units will include all the necessities, such as a water supply, kitchens, electricity, fans, lighting, security, medical facilities, and daycare centers.

When the Shramik Basera is finished, it will improve the lives of more than 15,000 construction workers by giving them much-needed comfort and convenience.
