Chief Minister Atishi: ‘Efforts are underway to start the registration process to avail the benefits of Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana in the next 7-10 days’
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said on Friday that the “Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana” notice was sent out a day ago and that the registration procedure for the plan would begin within the next seven to ten days.
Every qualified woman over the age of 18 would get a direct payment of Rs 1,000 as part of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, which was approved by the Delhi Cabinet on Thursday. The Delhi government has officially announced that the plan would get an annual allocation of Rs 4,560 crore.
“Last night, this was communicated. Work on the registration procedure is currently under progress. We’ll do our best to ensure that the Mahila Samman Yojana registration procedure opens within the next seven to ten days,” Atishi said.
“This program is being started because the Delhi government is the only one that recognizes the suffering of women and recognizes that those who lack financial independence must beg men for money. This Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana is being started for that reason…,” she said.
The cabinet memo states that the cash distribution program may be available to over 38 lakh women. The initiative needs a yearly budgetary commitment of Rs 4,560 crore to provide them Rs 1,000 each month.
Women above the age of eighteen who live in Delhi’s National Capital Territory (NCT) and have a valid voter ID card as of December 12, 2024, are eligible for the program.
Earlier, Chief Minister Atishi hailed Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Admi Party (AAP), as the nation’s first leader to recognize the difficulties faced by women.
“The well-known politician Arvind Kejriwal was the first person in our nation’s history to comprehend the suffering of women. The fact that women must extend their hands in front of males, even for basic necessities, is their greatest worry. It is before their parents when they are young, before their spouses when they get older, and before their children when they become older,” CM Atishi told the reporters.
“In March, this year, Arvind Kejriwal announced Rs 1000 for women,” remarked Chief Minister Atishi.
Kejriwal had earlier this year offered Rs 1,000 for women, the Delhi chief minister said. However, the money transfer had been postponed because of his detention.
