Chennai intercepted and seized three containers of misdeclared goods at port
Chennai: Three containers of misreported items were intercepted and impounded at the port by the Special Information and Investigation Branch (SIIB)-Chennai based on particular information, according to authorities.
With a total worth of Rs 5.13 crore, the confiscated shipment included 516 alloy wheels, 11,624 pairs of footwear that breached intellectual property rights, 15,000 mobile batteries, and laser equipment.

Officials claim that the products were illegally smuggled under false pretenses of being study tables and stationery.
This year and the previous year, the Chennai customs agency carried out a number of operations.
