Abed Elrazeg Abu Jazer, the charge de affairs for the Palestine embassy, claimed to have visited Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at her home to congratulate her on winning the Waynad Lok Sabha seat.
Vadra promised to support Palestine’s liberation, according to Jazer.
“I visited Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi at her home to offer my congratulations on her election to the 18th Lok Sabha (Wayanad) seat in the Indian parliament. According to the statement, Mrs. Priyanka reiterated her support for the Palestinian people’s fight for freedom and independence.
According to Jazer, Vadra recalled his childhood travel to India to see former Prime Ministers Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi, when he met Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
She went on to say that she had supported the Palestinian cause since she was a little kid and thought it was just. Furthermore, she said that she had seen Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat many times as a youngster when he traveled to India to meet with Mr. Rajiv Gandhi or Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the previous prime minister,” he added.
In addition to denouncing the Israeli attack in Gaza and the international community’s inaction, Mrs. Priyanka highlighted the cordial, long-standing ties between the Palestinian and Indian people. She lamented and mourned the sights of devastation and destruction in Gaza, particularly the deaths of women and children as well as the targeted strikes on people.
“She expressed her sympathies to all mothers who have lost a child,” Jazer said.
During the discussion, the Palestinian charge of affairs reaffirmed Delhi’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to independence and stability and the significance of India’s role in West Asia, particularly in achieving a truce in Gaza. According to the statement, Jazer also remembers Palestine’s cordial, long-standing relationships with the Indian Congress Party and all other Indian political parties.
Given the high regard that the Palestinian people have for India, its standing internationally, and the longstanding relationship between the two countries and their leaders, Jazer also called on India to play a significant political and developmental role in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip by funding numerous essential projects that the Palestinians in Gaza and the international community need, the statement continued.
