A thorough examination of law and order was conducted at the conference, which included talks about the use of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and methods for handling sensitive areas.

With provisions for deployment in regions needing more sensitivity, plans were finalized to assure heightened security.

Another important area of concern was the tracking of election expenses. There was discussion of how to prevent excessive expenditure and guarantee that rules were followed, with expenditure observers offering insightful commentary.

The discussion included updates on infractions of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). These infractions are being addressed and resolved. With the removal of more than 13 lakh posters, banners, and hoardings around the city, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has achieved great strides in its defacement clearance effort.

Activities related to Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) were also thoroughly examined. The ideas that returning officers submitted to raise voter awareness were well received and recommended to be carried out. The significance of these actions in guaranteeing informed voter participation was underlined throughout the discussion.

The procedures allowing senior citizens and people with disabilities (PwD) to vote at home are going well. By January 31st, instructions were given to guarantee that all Voter Information Slips (VIS) were distributed. The goal of this program is to guarantee that all eligible voters are aware of their inclusion on the voter list and are ready to exercise their right to vote on February 5, 2025.

To distribute the Voter Information Slips (VIS), poll workers have begun contacting each home in the district. Voters can find their polling places and cast their ballots more easily thanks to these slips, which provide important information, including the voter’s name, polling station, and other pertinent facts.

Furthermore, every polling station’s Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) are being ensured with particular care. According to specifications, permanent ramps with the proper gradient should be installed. The voting booth needs to have a suitable parking area. Every polling station should have appropriate signs, a waiting shed, a medical kit, clean drinking water, an accessible restroom, and enough lighting.

Prompt complaint resolution, addressing candidate and political party concerns, training poll workers, providing a 100% webcast at polling stations on election day, providing welfare benefits for poll workers, having poll workers send a copy of Form-17C (Part-1) to the nodal officer at the AC level through sector officers as soon as polling is finished, making appropriate arrangements at counting centers, etc., were all emphasized.

District Election Officers (DOs), MCD DCPs and DCs zones, Returning Officers (ROs), Police Observers, Expenditure Observers, General Observers, senior police officers, MCD/NDMC/Cantonment Board officials, and CEO office representatives attended the meeting. Senior ECI officers were present at the meeting, along with Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), R. Alice Vaz. The meeting was also attended by the State Police Nodal Officer.
