BTC led by its chief Pramod Boro formally launched the “BTR Community Vision Document”
Under the direction of Chief Pramod Boro, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) took a historic step by formally launching the “BTR Community Vision Document.”
The goal of this unique project in the Bodoland Territorial Region’s (BTR) history is to bring the 26 villages together to write a shared vision of development and prosperity.
The event was place in Guwahati on Monday, and attendees included Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Assam Cabinet Ministers Atul Bora, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Ranoj Pegu, Ashok Singhal, UG Brahma, MP Dilip Saikia, BTC Chief Pramod Boro, State Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, and DGP GP Singh.
The Community Vision Document is a new endeavor by the Bodoland Territorial Region Government, according to Pramod Boro, the chief of BTC and president of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), an ally of the NDA. According to him, it represents the outcomes of a participatory visioning exercise that was conducted among 26 distinct local communities, ethnic groups, and tribes.
“The initiative intends to maintain harmony and tranquility while simultaneously improving growth prospects for every community. This approach tackles long-standing problems and unfulfilled dreams of the indigenous people and other marginalized groups by acting in ways that respect the relationality, dignity, and respect of all people and communities. According to Pramod Boro, it aims to provide the government and other organizations a framework for addressing the particular requirements and shared objectives of the Bodoland area.
Every community aspires to endure while maintaining its own identity, customs, language, and culture. Those communities sometimes vent their disapproval of their lack of rights. Through the Vision Document program, the BTR government is making a modest attempt to protect their rights and provide people with equality and justice. It’s a reciprocal effort. One is to provide communities with targeted activities, and the other is to develop a strategy for government employees,” Boro told reporters.
“The Vision Document is a long-term framework for the region,” he said.
“The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has made great progress, achieving faster development and lasting peace,” said Atul Bora, the minister of agriculture for Assam and the head of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP). Its different populations have become closer as a result. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s capable leadership and BTR Chief Pramod Boro’s diligent efforts are credited with this accomplishment.
“Equal rights, opportunity, and growth for all communities in BTR are the goals of the Community Vision Document. Its main goal is to foster their development while protecting their rich language and cultural heritage. I have no doubt that this project would hasten BTR’s growth and contribute to the realization of its citizens’ aspirations,” Atul Bora said.
Odia, Santal, Rabha, Sarania Kachari, Hajong, Barman Mandai, Garo, Keot, Kurukh (Oraon), Gorkha, Madahi Kachari, Bodo, Sutradhar, Goria, Deshi, Bengali, Adivasi, Koch Rajbongshi, Jolha, Muslim, Kalita, Hindi Bhasi, Nath Yogi, Barman Kachari, and Munda communities are among the other communities for which the Bodoland Territorial Council has also released distinct Community Vision Documents.
Additionally, Pramod Boro said, “The Bodo Peace Accord 2020 offered a favorable framework for maintaining long-term peace, unity, and integrity across the Bodoland area. It put an end to the gloomy times of bloodshed, murders, and widespread animosity within and between the local populations. Therefore, now is the moment to start the process of rebuilding, healing, and establishing the foundation for long-term peace, harmony, and progress.
