BSF detains 29 Bangladeshi nationals near the border in Tripura
Agartala: According to a statement, 29 Bangladeshi nationals were detained by the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura, along the border between March 6 and 10.

According to the release, 29 Bangladeshi nationals and seven Indian nationals, including an Indian tout, were captured by the BSF troops of Tripura Frontier in various operations in various parts of the state, including Lankamura under PS Airport, Nischintpur under PS Amtli, Harnakhola under PS Mohanpur, the railway stations Agartala under District West Tripura, Churaibari & Dharmanagar under District North Tripura, Sabroom under PS Subroom under District South Tripura, and L K Para under District Gomati of Tripura.
In order to address the concerns of the local populace, BSF battalions have also held more than nine village coordination meetings in border regions.
According to the announcement, the BSF keeps improving its intelligence and surveillance capabilities to guarantee the country’s safety and security.
In order to stop transnational crimes and smuggling, BSF Tripura also increased supervision at the international boundary.
BSF personnel successfully stopped many smuggling efforts in the first week of March 2025. They also captured 280.67 kilos of ganja and a substantial amount of drugs, livestock, rice, and other illegal commodities valued at Rs 2.88 crore.
According to the announcement, BSF has held several border coordination meetings with BGB at different levels and carried out 61 concurrent coordinated patrols to combat smuggling and other crimes along the IB and to improve cooperation with counterparts.
