Brijmohan Agrawal of the BJP said the “INDI alliance is nearly destroyed now.”
New Delhi: Brijmohan Agrawal, an MP for the Bharatiya Janata Party, attacked the India alliance on Sunday, saying it is about to fall apart. This statement was made by Agrawal, who noted that there are disagreements inside the alliance over its leader. He said there were discussions on appointing Sharad Pawar as the leader and Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, as the head of the opposing side.
“At this point, the INDI coalition is all but destroyed. The idea of naming Mamata Banerjee the leader is being discussed on one side, while Sharad Pawar is being discussed on the other,” he said.
Following the Congress’ crushing defeat in the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, several Trinamool Congress officials called for a change in the INDIA bloc’s leadership, suggesting Mamata Banerjee as the frontrunner. This sparked a fresh debate.
The statement of Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal that his party will only run in the next assembly elections was also brought up by Agrawal, who saw it as a sign of the party’s uncertain future.
According to Agrawal, Kejriwal knows that running for office with “Congress would lead to AAP’s downfall.” He also seemed certain that the Delhi government will be formed by the BJP.
“Just the declaration that Arvind Kejriwal’s party would run in the assembly elections portends their demise. Arvind Kejriwal is aware that if he runs in the polls with Congress, he would lose. In either case, he will be done. Delhi will now see the formation of a BJP administration,” he said.
The AAP unveiled their fourth and final list of 38 candidates for the 2025 Delhi Elections earlier on Sunday.
According to the list, CM Atishi from Kalkaji, Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj from Greater Kailash, Minister Gopal Rai from Babarpur, and the party’s national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will run from New Delhi.
In addition, Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Naga, Raghuvinder Shokeen from Nangloi Jat, Imran Hussain from Ballimaran, Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar, Satyendra Kumar Jain from Shakur Basti, and Durgesh Pathak from Rajinder Nagar will run.

The Congress party, which ruled Delhi for 15 years in a row, has not won any seats in the last two assembly elections. In the 2020 assembly elections, the AAP took home 62 of the 70 seats, while the BJP took home eight.
