BPSC Protest: Khan Sir was released from Patna Gardanibagh police station on Friday night
Patna: After being detained at Patna’s Gardanibagh Police Station, educator and YouTuber Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, was freed on Friday evening.
The YouTuber joined the demonstrations earlier Friday in Patna by candidates for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) against the commission over the planned modifications to the exam format.
In order to evade the normalization process, the students who are protesting are calling for tests to be administered in “one shift and one paper.”
Earlier, MS Khan, the special executive magistrate, asked the demonstrators to vacate the area.
“The demonstration venue will have to be evacuated by the demonstrators. I just arrived here. I don’t know. After being arrested, Khan Sir is now departing. I have no idea where he is being taken or where he is headed. There is no one inside. MS Khan said on Friday that they would have to go from Dharna-sthal.
Speaking to the media about the current demonstrations, Khan Sir said that they are unrelated to politics and that they would support those who will pay attention to their demands.
“There is only one week left. How regrettable that, just a week before the exams, we must demonstrate in support of our claim on Chanakya’s land. We would want the BPSC president to state that there will be no normalization and that all students will get the same paper for the exams, which will be administered in a single shift. We have no personal issues with any of the people. Although the procedure may be excellent, the person carrying it out must also be good. Can they guarantee us that? Until normalization is guaranteed to be lifted, we won’t proceed,” Khan Sir had previously told reporters.
“We ask that the police administration recognize that your kids are also enrolled in this school. We instruct them as well. The Constitution is something we believe in. We are not demonstrating in the streets because of this. We arrived at the Dharna-sthal, the venue of the constitutional protest. We’ll see to it that the process of normalization is canceled. We don’t hold BPSC to any standards. The government gives us hope. Politics has nothing to do with us. “Those who listen to our demands will have our support,” he continued.
“We won’t allow this to occur. It won’t work. One paper, one test, one shift. Students should be granted more time if their time is being squandered. On the day of the test, an extension should be granted. Addressing the students who were protesting, Khan said, “Students’ forms that were rejected because of a discrepancy in the server should be accepted.”
