BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal took a dig at AAP leader Sanjay Singh

New Delhi: Praveen Khandelwal, a member of parliament for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), made fun of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Friday morning by claiming that the people of Delhi had chosen to elect the BJP’s double-engine administration.

“It is evident from Sanjay Singh’s comments that he is upset and disappointed that the Delhi people have chosen to create a double-engine administration with the BJP. This is the cause of their trembling and irrational speech. “Everything will become clear on February 8,” Khandelwal told the media report.

His response followed Singh’s harsh criticism of the BJP, claiming that the BJP will be “wiped out” in the next Delhi assembly elections regardless of how hard Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath try.

Sanjay Singh told ANI, “No matter how hard UP CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Modi try or they could even call US President Donald Trump to campaign, the BJP will be wiped out in the Delhi elections.”

In response to Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Khandelwal said that the Delhi populace would choose the winner. “What the law and individuals say must be understood. “Just talking doesn’t accomplish anything,” he said.

On Thursday, Owaisi said that Shifa-Ur-Rehman, the AIMIM candidate, could run for and win elections from within the prison provided Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail to do so. While campaigning for Shifa-Ur-Rehman, the party’s candidate from the Okhla assembly seat, who has been imprisoned for his suspected role in the 2020 Delhi riots wider conspiracy case, the AIMIM chairman made this statement.

Speaking at a public event, Owaisi said, “We will make Shifa win from inside the jail if Arvind Kejriwal can get bail in this country and run for office after six months.”

Furthermore, the AIMIM chief used George Fernandez as an example to compare party candidate Shifa-Ur-Rehman to Fernandez, stating that if Fernandez can win elections while incarcerated in Bihar for the “Baroda Dynamite case,” Shifa will likewise win the Okhla elections while incarcerated and become an MLA.

On February 5, the Delhi Assembly elections will be held in a single phase, with the vote count scheduled on February 8. There are 699 contestants vying for Delhi’s 70 assembly seats.

The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years in a row, has lost both of the most recent assembly elections and has not been able to secure any seats. The AAP, on the other hand, won 67 and 62 seats out of a total of 70 seats in the 2015 and 2020 assembly elections, respectively, while the BJP only managed to get three and eight seats.
