BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty said people should be proud to say that they are Sanatanis

Kolkata: Veteran actor and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mithun Chakraborty said Monday that the people should be happy to call themselves Sanatanis after the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra in Barasat.

“The best thing is that all Sanatanis have gathered under one roof on this day of Ram Navami, the day of God. We should be pleased to call ourselves Sanatanis, as we have said time and time again,” Chakraborty told the media report.

He responded to TMC leader Kunal Ghosh’s comments that Mamata Banerjee’s model is Hindus and Muslims strolling together by saying that they must be “joking.”

“These individuals (TMC leaders) claim repeatedly that the BJP incites violence. Did you see any violence during the more than one lakh people that were out on the streets today? Tell me, then, where the BJP incites violence. Mamata Banerjee is an example of Hindus and Muslims strolling together. “You’re genuinely kidding,” he continued.

Ram Navami, according to Kunal Ghosh, is a celebration of communal unity and is modeled after Mamata Banerjee’s Bengal.

“This is a celebration of peace among the community. We were invited by Muslim neighbors to celebrate Eid, and we took part in the Eid Milan. Muslims have also joined the Shobha Yatra today. Even if people have various views, we must all be together when we gather in the streets to celebrate a festival. This is the Bengal Model of Mamata Banerjee. “This should be seen by the entire nation,” Ghosh said.

Actor and BJP politician Mithun Chakraborty, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, and other party officials took part in a Ram Navami Shobha Yatra (procession) in Barasat earlier on Sunday.

Suvendu Adhikari, a BJP politician and politician of the Opposition, took part in a Ram Navami Shobha Yatra in Purba Medinipur. “There are a lot of Hindus out today,” Adhikari told the media report. The TMC often makes fun of Hindus.

Participants in the Ram Navami protest were showered with flowers and water bottles by a number of Muslim teenagers on the occasion of the festival.

“We are welcoming the rally coming on the occasion of Ram Navami,” said Rustam Alam, one of the Muslim teenagers participating in the festivities. We are sprinkling them with flowers. We want the peaceful coexistence of both populations.
