BJP candidate C Krishnakumar expressed confidence in his party’s victory

Kerala: C Krishnakumar, a candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said he was certain his party will win the poll by a landslide ahead of the vote-counting for the Palakkad Assembly by-election on Saturday.

“It has created a very good thing in favor of the BJP,” BJP leader Krishnakumar told a media report. In previous elections, the Christian minority often voted for the UDF. They are now more committed to the BJP.People are aware of me since I have worked in the public sector. They are aware of the Palakkad BJP.Without a doubt, we will win the election by a wide majority.

The candidate for the Palakkad Assembly by-election, P. Sarin of the Left Democratic Front (LDF), had earlier stated his optimism that his party would get more than twice as many votes as it received in the 2021 assembly elections and that the by-election would be a “one-sided affair.”

Regarding the candidate they will choose, the electorate has high hopes for this election. They want to make up for the three times they have missed the chance. This will be a one-sided by-election. Sarin told a media report that the LDF will get at least 70,000 votes, more than twice as many as it received in 2021.

He said that there is an “anti-MLA factor” in Palakkad since the incumbent MLA did not do any job here, but there is no anti-incumbency sentiment.

“That front has been hampered by the MLA’s inability to take any action during the previous 13.5 years. These are one-sided by-elections. People were more interested in developmental concerns than accusations. People are going to reconcile with LDF in this situation. This will make up for 2021, when the LDF received pro-democratic and pro-secular votes from 99 seats but not Palakkad,” he said.

The Congress, CPI(M), and BJP depend on the outcome of the bye-election in Palakkad. In the by-elections, Krishnakumar faces Rahul Mamkootathil of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and P. Sarin of the Left Democratic Front (LDF).

MLA Shafi Parambil resigned from the seat to run for and win the Lok Sabha election from the Vadakara constituency, necessitating the by-elections.
