Banks will be closed in many cities today, see list
According to the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday schedule, banks will be closed in a number of cities today (RBI).
In observance of Rahas Purnima, Karthika Purnima, and Guru Nanak Jayanti, today is a bank holiday. Every year, the RBI provides the public with a thorough list of national and regional holidays.
To commemorate the birth of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh guru and the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Jayanti, also called Guru Nanak Gurpurab or Guru Nanak Prakash Utsav, is observed.

The following cities’ banks will be closed due to today’s holidays:

- Bhopal
- Chandigarh and Bhubaneswar
- Dehradun
- Telangana’s capital, Hyderabad
- The Itanagar
- Jaipur
- Jammu
- Kanpur
- The Kohima
- Kolkata
- The city of Lucknow
- Mumbai
- Nagpur
- Delhi
- Raipur
- Ranchi
- The Shimla
- The city of Srinagar
Customers should be aware that although banks in these cities are closed, online banking services like net banking and mobile banking will continue to accept payments.
