Ayodhya has been divided into six zones and 11 sectors due to the huge crowd of devotees in the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj
Ayodhya: The number of devotees traveling to Ayodhya is increasing as Prayagraj continues to see a large influx of devotees congregating at Mahakumbh. As the number of devotees has increased during the present Mahakumbh, Ayodhya has been split into six zones and eleven sectors, according to Ayodhya SP Madhuvan Kumar Singh.

According to Madhuvan Kumar Singh, “The number of devotees is growing daily. People have flocked to Ayodhya Dham to have darshan of Lord Shri Ram and Hanuman ji since the start of the Maha Kumbh Mela in order to take a bath during the event. Since the morning, thousands of devotees have gathered here to get darshan and swim in the Sarayu River.
He said that the Deputy Superintendent of Police was assigned at the sector level, while the Upper Superintendent of Police was assigned at the zonal level.
“The whole Ayodhya Dham has been split up into six zones and eleven sectors for security purposes, and police presence has been mandated. Inspectors, deputy inspectors, constables, and female police officers have been stationed at a number of static and diversion sites. For the devotees, a path has been prepared, and they are receiving darshan by constructing a path to enter on one side and exit on the other,” he said.
He said that as the number of devotees increases, they are put in certain holding places that have been determined.
Earlier on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for reviving the nation’s trust and respect throughout the world and cited Prayagraj, Kashi, and Ayodhya as examples of Uttar Pradesh’s revolutionary success.
He said that because of the region’s economic progress and respect for religion, the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya has increased dramatically from 2.35 lakh in 2016–17 to around 14–15 crore in 2024.
CM Yogi emphasized that UP has come a long way in the last eight years and pointed out that Chinese items are now being replaced with One District One Product (ODOP) presents distributed during festivals.
“Ayodhya, Prayagraj, and Kashi demonstrated India’s potential. Compared to those who oppose Maha Kumbh, our economics are superior. By showcasing India’s religion to the globe, devotees are also helping the world realize how strong they are. Thus far, almost 53 crore devotees have participated in a sacred plunge. Only 2.35 lakh devotees used to go to Ayodhya in 2016–17, when the BJP was not in power in Uttar Pradesh; by 2024, that number has risen to approximately 14–15 crore, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
“Its economic component is significant in addition to honoring religion. After eight years of growth, UP now gives presents of ODOP (One District One Product) goods rather than Chinese goods during holidays. The nation’s religion was respected for the first time under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the CMO said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday that 53 crore devotees have taken a holy plunge in the Triveni Sangam so far, and that this number would continue for the next nine days as Prayagraj continues to see a massive influx of devotees congregating at Mahakumbh.
