Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s adviser, Awanish Kumar Awasthi, visited the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 information complex on Sunday.
The Chief Minister has predicted that the number of devotees traveling to the Mahakumbh region would almost double from 2019 levels, according to Awasthi, who spoke to ANI. He also said that 25 crore people traveled to Prayagraj during Kumbh 2019.
Awasthi said during his tour of the information complex that a large center has been constructed to house all media professionals, including national, international, and social media influencers.
The advisor to the Uttar Pradesh chief minister highlighted the preparations, stating, “In 2019, 25 crore people visited Kumbh. It’s Maha Kumbh this time.According to CM Yogi Adityanath, there would be almost twice as many attendees this time. He has directed all of the cops to visit the location today and make sure that the system has the final touches and that the job is completed.
A large center has been constructed to house influencers, members of the national and international media, and everyone else. The press room is twice as large as it was before. I think the overall workstation setup within this place is very lovely and seems three times larger.”
To guarantee a secure and magnificent Maha Kumbh 2025 celebration, the Uttar Pradesh government has put in place a number of security measures and sophisticated plans.
The state government and administration are prepared for the big mela, which is set to start in Prayagraj on January 13 with the installation of thousands of AI-powered CCTVs, underwater drones, and cutting-edge amenities for tourists and devotees.
Held once every 12 years, the Maha Kumbh will come to an end on February 26.
To guarantee security readiness in the Mela region, police and paramilitary personnel carried out area dominance patrols and security inspections on Sunday.
According to Jagdish Kaliraman, ACP (Parade Area Kumbh), they are carrying out routine inspections and monitoring in accordance with directives from higher-ups.
“The public will access and depart the parade location; therefore, we are continuously doing security checks there. There is constant human and equipment-based inspection since it is a sensitive area. The district hospital, where people go for health examinations, is another place we are inspecting,” the ACP said.
In order to evaluate the preparations, Prayagraj Commissioner of Police Tarun Gauba also visited many akharas and spoke with sadhus and saints.
In order to guarantee smooth transportation along a variety of routes, the Uttar Pradesh government has also sent out 40 electric buses for devotees, with another 30 buses anticipated from Lucknow.
Several sages and akharas are also attracting attention as Maha Kumbh preparations become more intense.
Famous people visiting the Kumbh Mela include Splendor Baba, a disabled person who traveled from Gujarat on a three-wheeler motorbike, and Bavander Baba, who traveled more than 100,000 kilometers.
On January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami), the Kumbh’s principal bathing ceremonies (Shahi Snan) will be held.
At the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers converge, pilgrims will assemble to partake in a sacred dip that is said to atone for sins and bring about moksha (freedom). Over 45 crore people are anticipated to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela.
